Hong Kong Ferry Collides Killing 8 People
Tragedy struck in Hong Kong on Monday night around 8:20 p.m. when a tug boat crashed into a ferry that was transporting passengers off of the coast of Lamma Island. Dozens of people were thrown overboard and sadly eight were killed as a result.
According to reports, a major rescue was conducted in order to make the attempt to save the lives of as many people as they could. Tuesday morning five different hospitals throughout Hong Kong received 100 patients that were in the crash, including the eight that did not survive. At this point, the rescuers have only been able to recover 101 of the 120 passengers that were originally on the ferry that day, and they are still doing whatever they can to find the remaining people.
