13 Children Hurt In School Bus Accident
Authorities reported that on Thursday thirteen children were hurt in Victorville on when a U-Haul truck collided with a school bus carrying 40 students knocking it on its side. Two children were seriously injured and taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Their injuries were described by officials as “non-life threatening.”
When the accident occurred, the children were riding home from Galileo Academy in Victorville around 2 p.m. The two people in the U-Haul truck were unharmed.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the truck was backing out of a driveway as the school bus approached. The bus driver tried to swerve, but the truck struck the rear part of the bus and sent it spinning.
CHP officers said one of the two seriously injured children suffered a head injury; the other a leg injury, possibly a broken bone.
