Boating Accidents In The Inland Empire On The Rise
A recent report showed that boating accidents in the Inland Empire have risen over the past year. There has been a ten percent rise in boating fatalities across the state of California, and with the exception of Orange County, no area in the state saw a steeper climb in both injuries and fatalities than the Inland Empire.
A spokesperson for the State Department of Boating and Waterways said, “The majority of people who died in these accidents drowned. Most knew how to swim, but were unable to save themselves due to injuries or cold water.” Alcohol is also a major contributing factor to the high number of accidents in the Inland Empire’s many lakes. In all, there were a reported 32 injuries and 6 deaths during the past boating season. If you are injured in a boating accident, contact personal injury attorney Gary G.
